Such a good lesson, and such a tough one to live. Lately I’ve tried leaning into the idea that we aren’t "meant“ to be like anyone else. It’s based on an idea that the universe/consciousness/whatever created all diversity of beings specifically to have a diversity of experiences, so we really should figure out what it’s like to have *our* experience and optimize the hell out of it. It helps me let go of comparison and wondering if I should be more like XYZ.

Love that idea, Mindy. The best way to ‘figure out what it’s like to have our experience and optimize the hell out of it’ is to work on getting quiet inside so we can hear what’s meant for us.

The only “upside” is a fleeting dopamine hit in a favorable comparison. It’s interesting how empty that feels, and therefore easy to release. The unfavorable comparison still sticks sometimes even though it’s equally empty. Parts stuck in a conditioned past, that in the end just want unconditional love, are tenacious. Loving and accepting them wholeheartedly seems to be the only way to let them go. It’s a work in progress here. Thanks for another great post!
